RABAT, Morocco (AP) – Tanzania and Tunisia secured the final two spots in the African Cup of Nations round of 16 on Tuesday, completing their lineups before half of their groups played their final games.

Group A
Hosts Morocco emerged as winners of Group A, followed by second-placed Mali with just three points after three draws. Morocco will play the third place in Groups C, D and E next Sunday. What’s more important for the Atlas Lions is that they continue their run to the finals at the nearly 70,000-capacity Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium. The stadium will also host the final match on January 18th. Mali awaits a showdown with Tunisia in Casablanca on Saturday.
Group B
7-time champion Egypt I booked the place after 2 games. South Africa advanced through Group B, taking second place ahead of Angola. Egypt will remain in Agadir and will next face the third-placed team from Groups A, C and D on January 5th. South Africa are likely to face a tough match against Group F’s runners-up on Sunday.
Group C
Nigeria is Already clear of Group C before Tuesday’s 3-1 win against Uganda. The Super Eagles will remain in Fes and will play their first knockout tournament on January 5 against the third-place finishers from Groups A, B or F. Tunisia faced Mali in the last 16, with Tanzania finishing third and fourth.
Group D
In Group D, where the final match was played late on Tuesday, 2021 champions Senegal, Congo and Benin had at least three points and were already certain to finish ahead of Botswana, who lost to Senegal and Benin before the final match against Congo. Even if Botswana defeated Congo, they would not be able to surpass Benin due to their competitive record.
Group E

Ivory Coast will play Gabon and Cameroon will play Mozambique.
