The French forward’s 83rd-minute goal secured a 2-1 victory at the City Ground, giving Josep Guardiola’s side a sixth successive league win.

This was Cherki’s second goal in three games and fifth goal of his career. He also provided an assist for a complex pass to Tijani Reynders to put City ahead three minutes into the second half.
Omari Hutchinson scored the equalizer for relegation-battling Forest, who held on for a vital point until Cherki smashed his way through a crowded penalty box to score the winner.
Guardiola appears to believe his team is ready to regain the title they surrendered to Liverpool last season. After the final whistle, he joined in the celebrations with the traveling fans and took charge as the coach as the fans celebrated another victory.
