FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — The United States will play Belgium, Portugal and Germany in its final friendlies before the World Cup.
The U.S. Soccer Federation announced Tuesday that the 14th-ranked United States will play No. 8 Belgium on March 28 and No. 6 Portugal three days later, both in Atlanta.
Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo could play in the United States for the first time since playing for Real Madrid in a preseason friendly against Manchester United on August 2, 2014 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
After Pochettino selects his World Cup squad, the U.S. team will play a yet-to-be-determined team in Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 31st and then face ninth-ranked Germany in Chicago on June 6th.
The United States opens the World Cup in Inglewood, Calif., on June 12, plays in Seattle seven days later, and concludes the group stage in Inglewood on June 25. The opponent will be determined by Friday’s lottery, which will also affect which team the U.S. will face in a friendly in Charlotte.
The United States remains undefeated in five friendlies, winning four of them.
