Haaland scores again at Man City and withdraws robot celebration

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is a scoring machine and his new goal celebration reflects that.

After scoring the first of his two goals in Sunday’s 3-1 Premier League win over Bournemouth, Haaland drove off, moving in a robotic manner before stopping.

The prolific Norwegian striker likes to celebrate his goals in different ways. He is perhaps best known for his seated yoga meditation pose, but he has also been seen with one finger in his ear and the other hand pointing towards the sky.

Haaland recently said: the shape of his life. He has scored 26 goals in 16 appearances for club and country this season, with two goals in each of City’s last four home league games.

His most goals in the Premier League, 13, is more than twice as many as any other player this season.

“I try to contribute to the team by doing my job. Yeah, we won again, and that’s when everyone is happy, so that’s what we’re trying to do,” Haaland said.

“In the last game (against Aston Villa) I didn’t score a goal, so I’ll try to help the team win again. That’s my goal. It doesn’t matter if I score goals or win duels and help, as long as we win. That’s what I want to do,” he added.

Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks said Haaland was “nearly impossible” to stop.

“Obviously he’s 6-foot-5 and he’s really fast and strong and has great movement in the air. He’s a great player,” Brooks said. “I thought we did very well for most of the game, but he’s obviously a big threat no matter where the ball lands.”
