No one takes into account Inter Milan, who have a deeper bench than the other candidates, or AC Milan, who are not competing in Europe and will be more rested as the season progresses.

Serie A has had four different champions in the past six seasons, making it the most unpredictable of Europe’s top five domestic football leagues, and last season was the second time in four years that the title race was tied down to the final match.

Luciano Spalletti is expected to replace sacked Juventus manager Igor Tudor, with the former Napoli and Italy coach potentially making his Bianconeri debut at Cremonese this weekend.
Juventus defeated interim manager Massimo Brambilla’s Udinese on Wednesday, ending an eight-game winless streak.
The match against Cremonese could be complicated. The promoted club finished in 8th place with only one loss, which is better than expected.
Meanwhile, Stefano Pioli of unbeaten Fiorentina and Patrick Vieira of bottom-placed Genoa risk losing their jobs if their clubs don’t win against Lecce and Sassuolo respectively.

Serie A is still waiting for the Asian Football Confederation to approve a match between Milan and Como to be held in Perth, Australia, in February.
Both Milan and Como fans have voiced their opposition to traveling so far for matches between clubs less than an hour apart.
Serie A president Ezio Simonelli also recently said he supports moving evening matches to start at 8pm instead of the current 8:45pm kick-off time.
“Give the kids the opportunity to watch the entire game,” Simonelli said.
