LIVERPOOL, England (AP) – Liverpool’s flight to Germany ahead of their Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt was delayed on Tuesday due to what the club described as a “technical issue with the aircraft.”
As a result, a press conference scheduled to be held by Liverpool manager Arne Slott and midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai at Eintracht’s Deutsche Bank Park was canceled.
Liverpool’s team practiced at their training base during the lunch break ahead of their scheduled trip, with midfielder Ryan Gravenbirch absent. The Dutch international suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s Premier League defeat to Manchester United and was sent off in the 62nd minute.
It was not immediately clear when the flight to Germany would depart.
Liverpool have now lost four straight games in all competitions heading into Wednesday’s match. This includes the 1-0 loss to Galatasaray in the second round of the Champions League.
