OSLO, Norway (AP) – Manchester City star Erling Haaland missed two penalties for Norway in Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Israel.
Haaland’s first penalty went low but was saved by Daniel Peretz. However, Polish referee Szymon Marciniak ordered the kick to be retaken as the goalkeeper had left his line too early.
The second time he went for a reverse try for a corner, but Peretz again guessed correctly and saved his effort as Haaland looked on in disbelief.
Haaland made up for his 10th goal of the qualifying campaign by scoring late in the first half with a low shot from a pass by Alexander Soros. www.uefa.com/european-qualifiers/top-scorer.
He has also scored 12 goals in nine games for City this season, taking his total to 136 goals in 155 games for the club.
