Sky Sports have come back with today’s update on Moises Caicedo, exploring the angle that the midfielder could be unhappy if Brighton continue to push for big money for him.
He signed a new deal in March, but there was the understanding of a “gentleman’s agreement” between him and the club, that he would be let go if a reasonable offer came in.
This is where the trouble starts, as it always does with these sorts of agreements. Brighton consider “reasonable” to be £100m or so, on the basis that that’s what Declan Rice has moved for this summer.
Obviously Caicedo thinks it’s a lot lower.
If he starts to get upset he could push for a move, and this could all get messy.
You can see him explain that point in the clip embedded here:
🔵 Brighton value Moises Caicedo at the same price as Declan Rice
💰 Reportedly Caicedo feels he has a “gentleman’s agreement” to leave in this window
❌ Still big gap in valuation between Chelsea and Brighton
