Bruno Fernandes delivered a stunning first-half goal to give Manchester United a lead over Galatasaray in Wednesday’s Champions League encounter.

After Alejandro Garnacho scored for the second successive match, Fernandes doubled United’s lead in the 18th minute with a brilliant effort from outside the box.

But the comfortable advantage didn’t last long. Weeks after coughing up an early 2-0 lead against FC Copenhagen, United scared their fans again, as Galatasaray cut the deficit in half just before the half-hour mark, with Hakim Ziyech‘s free-kick beating Andre Onana.

Scott McTominay eased the pressure on United after halftime, scoring in the 55th minute to restore the visitors’ two-goal advantage.

United can end the day in second place in Group A with a win over Galatasaray. Group leaders Bayern Munich play Copenhagen.
