Barcelona were not going to sign any players in the January transfer window but, according to ‘ESPN’, the Catalan club have contacted Manchester United to negotiate for Anthony Elanga.
The 20-year-old is not getting playing time in the English team and is not a key player for Erik ten Hag. As a result, Xavi’s side are keeping an eye on him.
The same media outlet reports that both clubs have had negotiations to sign him on loan. Barca want Elanga to replace Ousmane Dembele as he injured his left leg in the clash against Girona and could be out of action for up to five weeks.
Elanga made his debut in the 2020/21 campaign with United. He is a striker who plays with skill on the right flank. The footballer has played 20 competitive matches this season, providing one assist.
