Pochettino will tell 22-year-old Chelsea player to be “more

Mauricio Pochettino took charge of his first Chelsea training sessions last week as he goes into his second weeks as Blues boss.

We have been hearing a lot about what it has been like and how intense it has been, and transfer insider Ben Jacobs has given his updates on inside Pochettino’s first week as Chelsea boss exclusively on SPTC this week.

Not only has Jacobs been speaking on how intense training has been, he’s also mentioned a couple of players that Pochettino is planning to sit down with specifically to hold conversations.

One of those is Mykhailo Mudryk, who arrived as a plus £80m signing back in January and has really struggled to hit the ground running since he made his move to Stamford Bridge.

Jacobs explains that Pochettino wants to have some conversations and work ‘one-on-one’ with Mudryk in order to try and ‘get him going’ again.

He said: “One of Pochettino’s first tasks will be to speak to both Mykhailho Mudryk and Levi Colwill. Both players have had a busy summer at the U21-Euros. And Colwill, along with Noni Madueke, return to Chelsea for pre-season as U-21 Euros champions.

“Pochettino is keen to get to know Mudryk and work one-on-one with him in order to get him going. Part of the focus will be on integration within the team and encouraging him to be more vocal and culture-orientated.”
