Nicolas Jackson withdraws from international duty with

The Senegal football federation have announced that Nicolas Jackson has withdrawn from their squad for this international break after picking up an injury.

The striker only returned for Chelsea at half time at the weekend, scoring in the second half and looking sharp. It’s not clear if the injury came before, during or after that 45 minutes of action, but it’s ruling him out of his national team games in the next fortnight.

It’s not clear what injury this is, or how bad it is, but if he misses the whole fortnight without affecting his availability for our games after the break, that might be perfect for Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea.

We await further news, but given there are no Pochettino pressers for two weeks, we may have to wait for some of the Chelsea reporters to sniff out further details about how severe the issue is in the days to come.
