Key Chelsea star out with worrying “knee pain” despite

If you’d asked any Chelsea fan what team they were expecting tonight, they would have included Reece James in it.

He’s our captain, one of our best players, and his alternate at right back, Malo Gusto, is out injured.

Not only that, but James also had a rest at the weekend because of his suspension – so he’s well rested too.

So it was a shock to see him on the bench for tonight’s game against Man U. Insider Nathan Gissing is reporting that it’s due to “knee pain.”

We hope it’s minor – and Gissing follows up by saying that James is expected to play a part. But if it’s that minor, why bench him at all? And if it’s bad enough to keep him out of the starting lineup, why risk him as a sub?

Hopefully we will find out more from manager Mauricio Pochettino in his press interview later.
