Under much-maligned owner De Jpon Chansiri, players have not been paid on time in five of the past seven months. Fans have been protesting against the Thai businessman’s ownership, but any sign of a takeover appears to be a long way off.<\/p>\n
Textor is one name that could provide a lifeline Wednesday. The 60-year-old heads Eagle Football Holdings, which owns Botafogo, Lyon and RWDM Brussels.<\/p>\n
Mr Texter was also previously part-owner of Crystal Palace. And while he is aware of his interest, he doesn’t seem too optimistic that a deal with the Owls will be agreed anytime soon.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the podcast The Added Time, he said:<\/p>\n

I’ve had a little bit of interaction, some direct interaction.”<\/p>\n
“I know that he is very concerned about the club, and I know that he may not think of the club that way. I don’t want to comment on what changes have happened in his life that have led to a disconnect between his future and the future of the club.”<\/p>\n
“I can say that I’m happy with their openness to discuss ideas these days. I think it’s really complicated. Wednesday is one of the clubs we’re looking at.”<\/p>\n

“It’s not that I don’t want to come in tomorrow, but they’re in a very difficult situation. There’s a lot to understand with the owners. There’s a lot to understand with the league itself. They’re in a very difficult situation.”<\/p>\n
“And we don’t have much time to figure that out. Well, I think half or two-thirds of the team are probably under 21, but we certainly hope that by the time we can get into the squad and work on the issues, if we reach an agreement with the club, it’s not too late.”<\/p>\n
“They’re fighting hard. Even if the owners don’t necessarily, the fans are rooting for the team and everyone is rooting for the team to do well, but I think the extent of our involvement in that situation is a little overstated. I think we’re one of three or four groups that are getting a reasonable amount of leniency from the owners.”<\/p>\n
Apart from the current ownership crisis, Wednesday has also endured a difficult start to the season on the pitch. They have just one win in their opening nine league games and sit 23rd in the Championship, ahead of only neighbors Sheffield United.<\/p>\n
