Gary Neville recently shared a video on his social media channels criticizing Britain’s political divide, but despite the backlash, the Manchester United icon won’t face any criticism.

Gary Neville will not face punishment for controversial social media video after Manchester synagogue attack. The Manchester United icon, 50, has never been afraid to share his political views.

And last week was no exception, as he uploaded a video to his social media channels the day after the horrifying incident. Mr Neville faces a backlash from the public and politicians, including Reform UK’s Lee Anderson and Dame Andrea Jenkins.

However, Neville will not be penalized by Sky Sports for the comments featured throughout the three-minute video. According to the Daily Mail, Neville’s comments are not expected to trigger any sanctions related to a breach of Sky Sports’ guidelines on talent’s use of social media.

The guidelines say: “Talent and contributors should recognize that social media communities are public forums and should not engage in activities that bring their programs or Sky into disrepute.”

Following his comments, Neville quickly returned to duty at the weekend after being named as a pundit for Chelsea’s dramatic win over Liverpool and Manchester City’s modest success against Brentford.

Neville suggested political divisions were being caused by “angry middle-aged white men” and condemned the display of the Union Jack flag. “As I watched the news last night and this morning, most of the stories were about horrific attacks within the Jewish community just a mile from here,” he said.

“Last night, as I was driving down Lyttelton Road on my way to Salford City, I saw maybe 50 or 60 Union Jack flags, and on my way back I passed the parallel Bury New Road, which is the heart of the Jewish community and they are defiantly out on the streets, not hiding or being afraid.

“And last night, as I was driving home, I kept thinking: We’re all so hostile to each other, and the divisions that are being created are really disgusting. Primarily, they’re being created by angry middle-aged white men who know exactly what they’re doing.”

“Interestingly, last week there was a Union Jack flag flying at one of my development sites, which I immediately removed.”

Mr Neville added: “The Union Jack flag is wrong when used in a negative way. I am a proud supporter of the United Kingdom, Great Britain and our country, and will defend our country as one of the best places to live anywhere in the world.”
