Liverpool legend Jamie Carrager has branded Anfield’s current situation as “disturbance” as calling for the club to drop Florian Wharts on the bench. The Reds endured a 1-0 defeat against Galatasaray on Tuesday night, and Victor Osimhen’s first half spot kick proved decisive. The defeat represents the second consecutive loss of boss Arne Slot, coming behind a 2-1 reverse to Crystal Palace on Saturday.<\/p>\n

While the campaign has largely proven fruitful, recent displays have had naked weaknesses, raising doubts about Liverpool’s ability to maintain the Premier League crown. After arriving at Liverpool on a \u00a3116 million move, Wirtz was expected to replicate the outstanding display from Bundesliga. However, after eight outings in the Premier and Champions League, the 22-year-old failed to make a meaningful contribution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Carragher, who claimed the glory of Liverpool and the Champions League in 2005, believes it could be a moment when Wirtz occupying place among alternatives that will help sides as they rediscover the rhythm.<\/p>\n

“I’m not looking at the top team,” he told CBS Sports. \u201cLiverpool doesn’t play football, they play basketball, and I told the slots this in the first game of the season against Bournemouth.<\/p>\n

“They obviously have great managers. Liverpool were the first team last season, but they sprinkled a bit of stardust in terms of the transfers they brought in.<\/p>\n

“I think now that I know that for the manager he really needs to make his money. He won the Premier League last season, but there are few issues he has to fix.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“It would be really interesting how he does about it because he spent a lot of money on certain players. The balance of the team is not right now. The obvious is Florian Whartz, not race. He’s a boy, he’s coming to a new league and has a lot of time.<\/p>\n

“But now he needs to come out of the team. Liverpool is returning to the presence they had last season and trying to build confidence and stability. It looks like a mess right now.”<\/p>\n

This follows a terrible review during his Sky Sports Punditry. The previous centre-back emphasized that Alexis Mac Alistair’s difficulties have not helped Wirtz adapt, and called on Liverpool to do more to promote his adjustments.<\/p>\n

Karager said Monday: “I think we should analyze someone who spent that money. He ran two seasons of famous star, Bundesliga player of the year, winning the Bundesliga, a veteran international with Germany.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I think it’s safe to say that he’s not been great for Liverpool before, but I don’t think Liverpool has been great for him ever.<\/p>\n

“Liverpool has to do more for him as he doesn’t get the ball as often as he used to. He felt it was tough. Newcastle would always be a baptism of fire in that left half position, but you can understand that you’re against that midfield.<\/p>\n

“This is happening quite a bit where he’s taking off his shot and people are getting a little faster on top of him. I know that the standards for the Premier League are better than the Bundesliga, perhaps faster.<\/p>\n

“In this situation, it’s faster and people are on him. He’s a young boy and is trying to meet the league’s demands. There’s no doubt about that.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
