tHis Lionel Messi aura has transformed Intermiami into one of the continent’s most media-friendly clubs since its arrival in 2023. However, not everyone is fascinated by the magic of the eight Ballon d’Or winner. Former Leeds United player and current MLS player Mateus Crich has launched intense criticism of David Beckham’s club and even Messi’s aides.

In an interview with “Foottrack,” the 35-year-old Polish midfielder was dull about American clubs: “I don’t recommend going to Miami while Messi is there. That’s a disaster.”

And he says that his experience facing Intermiami has not been pleasant.

“People are leaving, coaches and physiotherapists are leaving. Organised, things are bad,” he said honestly. According to Crich, the club is fully conditioned by Messi’s aides. “Messi’s father is basically the one who runs a club. Everyone speaks Spanish and can’t do anything without his consent.”

Beyond sports, Paul criticised the club’s logistics. “The club is 45-50 minutes from Miami. It’s not like the Europeans think, you’re not on the beach. It’s not comfortable for players.

Klich’s recommendations

But Crich didn’t just throw darts. He also provided a list of clubs he believes are better options for players looking to challenge US football. “I recommend New York. Red Bull has better stadiums now, but City is also building a great stadium,” he said. He also mentioned Columbus crew and FC Cincinnati as a club with good infrastructure, albeit in a “boring living environment.”
