From the moment Aston Villa missed the Champions League it was clear that this season would be tough.<\/p>\n
Still, few people imagined it would be this brutal thing. They are currently sitting at the bottom 3, managing one goal in the opening five games, with Emery losing a key alliance in the president of Football Operations Monki.<\/p>\n
Since Emery was in charge almost three years ago, the villa has been on an astonishing upward trajectory. Emery led them safely to the Champions League after his first season, returning to Europe. Few managers have had the dramatic impact Emery did in the past three years to awaken a club of the size of Aston Villa.<\/p>\n
Still, Villa had to overcome a major obstacle with the departure of Monki, Emery’s latest blow, whose passion is unshakable but his patience is sure to be tested.<\/p>\n
Villa had to sell family silver to balance the book. It is difficult to justify why clubs of this size must sell top players side by side.<\/p>\n

Premier League profit and sustainability rules probably wouldn’t have been introduced to check out clubs like Aston Villa. You can argue that they were brought in to stop a financial disaster like Portsmouth at the time. Or stop the mega wealthy states from buying up football.<\/p>\n
They probably wouldn’t have been brought in because of Everton and Nottingham Forest, both of whom fell on a foul. Take care, Everton was warned before they were attacked.<\/p>\n
Without a doubt, the villa spent a lot of money regaining its glorious days. And they also brought Monki in for their relationship with Emery, but also for his reputation as a brilliant and wise transfer negotiator.<\/p>\n

Monki has had mixed success, but is an ally of Emery, and that must be a concern for the Villa. Looking at Emery’s recent work, one of them was Villarreal, where he worked incredible – ended because the club virtually failed to match his ambitions.<\/p>\n
The villa is great for Emery. And Emery was great for the villa. The storyline and European nights at the Villa Park were spectacular.<\/p>\n
But is it really fair to have spending rules that prevent villa fans from dreaming? I would like to mention that the same can be said about Newcastle. Those poor Saudi Arabia. It’s not a simple argument at all. And there’s no easy solution.<\/p>\n
But one outcome – it’s that Villa was losing so controversially at Manchester United on the final day of last season that allowed Newcastle to sneak into Champions League locations – it shouldn’t define the future of the entire club. And that’s how it feels.<\/p>\n

Ezri Konsa spoke about “killing” the club about PSR during the transfer period – that’s exactly what happened. The villa had to listen to the offer. They had to sell players like Jacob Ramsey, while still having loans, lending and creative signatures, dealing and bringing in.<\/p>\n
Last January they had to sell one of the two strikers, Ollie Watkins or Jhon Duran. They were still in the Champions League and were only slightly defeated by the ultimate winner, Paris Saint-Germain, a revelation. Look at them now.<\/p>\n
This is Aston Villa. A huge club that once again became a great story under Emery, but now he has to become an accountant as much as a football manager. That doesn’t seem to be correct. Emery is the best thing to happen to a villa for years. You can see how annoyed and angry he is.<\/p>\n
This is a serious concern. And it feels like Emery and Villa are almost punished for being ambitious and successful.<\/p>\n
