PARIS (AP) — Paris Saint-Germain Forward Osmane Dembele and British forward Chloe Kelly are among the leading candidates to win the Male and Female Barondoor Awards on Monday.<\/p>\n
They are the frontlines of 30 male and 30 female candidates revealed last month by French Football Magazine, and the winners were announced at a ceremony in central Paris.<\/p>\n
Dembele, 28, was inspired Major PSG<\/span> To the first Champions League title, he is one of the astounding nine PSG players competing for the men’s award. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma joined Manchester City, but was nominated for a PSG player.<\/p>\nTeenager Barcelona Starramine Yamal<\/span> And Liverpool’s Mohamed Sarah is one of the other male candidates.<\/p>\nWhen England won the Women’s European Championship in July, 27-year-old Kelly blasted a decisive penalty in the final World Cup Winner Spain<\/span>. She also won the Women’s Champions League Surprise winner<\/span> Arsenal.<\/p>\nShe faces competition from defender Lucy Bronze Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton<\/span> – Her England teammate, both playing for Chelsea – and from Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati, the winner of the past two awards.<\/p>\nThe Barcelona player has won four women’s awards.<\/p>\n
There is no PSG player<\/h2>\n
The match at Stade Velodrome is scheduled to begin at 8pm on Monday, local time (1800 GMT) as the French football league postponed the Sunday night match between hosts Marseille and PSG for 24 hours due to forecasts of bad weather.<\/p>\n
It clashes with the Ballon d’Or ceremony and prevents most PSG players from attending.<\/p>\n
However, Dembele and his fellow candidates, Desir\u00e9 Dou and Joan Neves, are injured and are free to attend the ceremony, not on a match-day team.<\/p>\n
PSG’s Luis Enrique was nominated for Best Coach.<\/p>\n
Voting System<\/h2>\n
The Ballon d’Or was created by the French Football Magazine and has been awarded to men since 1956 and to women since 2018. He is voted for the top 100 countries in the Men’s Award FIFA rankings and the top 50 countries in the FIFA rankings for the Women’s Award.<\/p>\n
Each journalist selects a player with an order, one journalist per country, ranked by points attributable to each position. ___<\/p>\n
