MANSHETER, England (AP) — Manchester United manager Reuben Amorim joked that Jim Ratcliffe was offered a new contract when the team’s co-owner held a meeting following the start of the team’s latest disappointing season.<\/p>\n

Ratcliffe, along with United CEO Omar Bellada and technical director Jason Wilcox, visited the training ground on Thursday to speak with Amorim. 3-0 loss<\/span> He went to Manchester City in the Derby match.<\/p>\n

“The new deal he was offering me,” Amorim said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

“No, that’s normal,” he continued, “just to explain it as supportive and that it’s a long project. He (Ratcliffe) has said many times that this was my first season.<\/p>\n

Amorim said that behind United, backing the 15th place finish in the Premier League last season, was one of “multiple” scheduled meetings with the club’s hierarchy at the start of the campaign. Grimsby Town in the fourth floor<\/span>.<\/p>\n

“This is a club with (most) pressure, and perhaps in the world,” Amorim said.<\/p>\n
