Mikel Arteta was criticised for his comments following Arsenal’s Champions League victory over Spanish side Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday evening<\/h2>\n

Mikel Arteta has been criticized for mistakenly replacing them with “glamour” by labeling them as “finishers.” The Arsenal boss used this period shortly after his team’s Champions League victory against Spanish side athletic Bilbao.<\/p>\n
Since it was initially named on the bench, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Torosard both found nets for the gunners. After the game, Arteta stated: “Finally, finishers, they made an impact on us to win the game.”<\/p>\n
Pushing his use of terms he added:<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can change the game, especially with the strength you play, especially when your team starts to fall, and I’m very happy to see that.<\/p>\n
However, not everyone is convinced of Arteta’s use of words. Former Premier League striker Charlie Austin is aiming to become Arsenal boss and claims the players are not yet convinced. Speaking about Sky Sports, the former England man said: “I don’t have it. I don’t have it.<\/p>\n

“What we’re continuing is just another change in the new word for football, the finisher coming. Ultimately, every sub wants to be a starter.<\/p>\n
“I’m not really buying it. I understand that he’s trying to make every player happy, but as a player, you play from the start and you don’t become a finisher.<\/p>\n
When asked whether the term is used to inject some positivity into an alternative role, Austin said, “What positivity?<\/p>\n
“If you’re playing for Arsenal, you’re in the top end and you’re fighting for four trophies, it’s certainly going around that place aggressively enough. As a footballer, if you’re on the bench, you know you’re on the bench.<\/p>\n

“Whether or not you’re coming to change the game in 20 minutes. It was always super sub, but now all of a sudden we’re changing it and adding a finisher and I think we can make it shine, so I’m not buying it.”<\/p>\n
Arsenal and Arteta will certainly hope that some of their stars will peak over the weekend, regardless of their role. The Gunners will face Manchester City at Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Arteta’s team could potentially climb to the top of the table with victory. Bukayosaka isn’t yet due to weekend games as Arsenal continues to recover from thigh injuries.<\/p>\n
Captain Martin Odegard is also expected to be affirmed as he picked up a shoulder injury that locked him out of a trip to Spain Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n
