Messi’s big mistake<\/h2>\n

With a team where everything was tense after the League Cup final, Messi looked like the right guy to lead them to another victory, but this time it wasn’t. The striker didn’t have a good day and missed a penalty that could have changed the course of the game.<\/p>\n

In the 29th minute of the first half, Messi stood in front of the ball to take the penalty that allowed him to open the score, but the Argentine star attempted a Panenka, which was not working, and the opposing goalkeeper saved it.<\/p>\n

At the end of the match, Intermiami coach Javier Mascherano analyzed the match and assisted Messi despite missing a penalty.<\/p>\n

“We can’t hold a penalty. If there’s someone who helped us during the season, it’s Leo. If you’re hoping I’ll come here and judge my players, you won’t find it. I’m the one who’s most responsible for a bad outcome.”<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Mascano praised his team’s attitude: “The team had an attitude and tried. It wasn’t one of the best nights, they hit us at the right moment and we couldn’t lift it up.”<\/p>\n
