Dietmar Hamann has not seen Pep Guardiola claim another major trophy from Manchester City. The Spanish genius has been constantly present at Etihad Stadium for nine years, securing six Premier League crowns, two FA Cups, four League Cups and the Champions League.<\/p>\n
However, despite writing a fresh two-year deal last November, speculation has swirled around his future in Manchester. City came in a disappointing third place in the Premier League last season, crashing from the Champions League to Real Madrid in the Knockout Phase playoffs, struggling with the exit of the 16 League Cup to Tottenham Hotspur and beaten to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final.<\/p>\n
The American Summer Club World Cup also brought disappointment to citizens who were excluded by Al-Hilal in the 16th rounds.<\/p>\n

“We can’t see him win the Premier League or the Champions League, and his time is getting new players and messing up the team when a new season begins, lit the fire and saying, “Now, if the slots spent last year’s season, we’re gonna be the year.”<\/p>\n
“I think it’s very difficult to bring out the fire between players and fans if you hear the same voice now and have players who have been there for seven, eight, nine years, I think it’s very difficult to bring out the fire between players and fans. And I think this is how they play.<\/p>\n
Despite being short last term, Guardiola wrote a contract extension that would remain at Etihad Stadium until at least the summer of 2027. However, Haman saw it as a “token” gesture to maintain Manchester’s morale.<\/p>\n

He added: “They extended their contracts last season. When they were unbeaten 10 or 12 games, I think it was a token gesture that calmed everyone down and silenced everyone.<\/p>\n
Guardiola endured a mixed bag of results from the first three Premier League matches of the semester, with the city waning to 13th place on the table. Their campaign began with a 4-0 victory over the Wolves over the opening weekend, then a 2-0 defeat from Thomas Frank to the rejuvenating Spurs and a 2-1 defeat for Brighton’s international break.<\/p>\n
City is preparing to host Manchester United on Sunday, so they are gearing up for the first Manchester Derby of the season. With Premier League champions Liverpool already moving six points ahead, City hopes to set the title chase in an epic way when they take on the Red Devils.<\/p>\n
