Manchester, UK (AP) – Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is willing to adapt his team’s approach following the goalkeeper’s signature Gianluigi donnarumma<\/span> And you wouldn’t expect the Italian to offer the same ball-playing ability as the late Adason Moraz.<\/p>\nAfter finishing an eight-year spell with City trophy by joining Fenerbafe last week, Ederson revolutionised his English soccer goalkeeper position with his distribution and technical skills.<\/p>\n
That was perfect for Guardiola’s style of play, but the same cannot be said about Donnaruma. Donnaruma is a great shot stopper whose strength doesn’t pass the ball from behind.<\/p>\n
Donnarumma made his City debut in the Manchester Derby and is competing for United Premier League<\/span> On Sunday following his move from Paris Saint-Germain, Guardiola did not confirm whether Italian International would begin.<\/p>\n“I’m always trying to adapt to the quality of my players,” Guardiola said Friday. \u201cI don’t ask Gigi to do anything uncomfortable.<\/p>\n
“We’re talking with Ederson about the best players we’ve seen in distribution, either short or long. We didn’t take Gigi with us to do what Ederson did. Gigi has a different quality.”<\/p>\n
Guardiola said he was “not trying to undermine” Donnaruma by pointing out Adason’s qualities, and shone on the strengths of his new signature.<\/p>\n
“He’s very tall. He’s so huge,” Guardiola said with a smile. “He’s a big presence at a big stage.<\/p>\n
“What he did in the Champions League at Villa Park in Anfield last season proves how good a lot of games are.”<\/p>\n
Guardiola said he first met Donnarumma on Wednesday, but on Thursday he didn’t watch the train.<\/p>\n
“I know,” Guardiola said when asked if Donnaruma would come for James Trafford, who started City’s first three games in the Premier League, he was asked if it was a victory at Wolverhampton before consecutive defeats to Tottenham and Brighton.<\/p>\n
