Thomas Touchel has revealed that he has not been discussing England’s potential comeback with Mason Greenwood. This week’s former Manchester United have speculated that it may have rejected Jamaican’s progress and kept the three lions’ options open.<\/p>\n

Greenwood’s final England appearance came five years ago when he was dishonorably fired by the Icelandic team along with Philfoden for violating Covid protocols by bringing two women to a team hotel. In October 2022, Greenwood was faced with charges of attempted rape, assault that caused actual physical harm, and control and forced conduct. All charges against him were then dropped in February 2023, but he left Manchester United later that year and joined Marseille.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A return route to international football appears to be impossible, and Greenwood urged him to explore the switch of loyalty to Jamaica through his father’s legacy.<\/p>\n

However, Jamaican manager Steve McClallen revealed this week that Greenwood is enjoying the Renaissance in France in Marseille, where he scored 23 goals in the club’s 39 appearances – but declined to call.<\/p>\n

While Greenwood is still available for the UK’s choice, Tuchel has confirmed that no dialogue has been taking place, and the striker is not currently under consideration. Tuchel, manager of England, explained:<\/p>\n

“My understanding is that we didn’t give it another idea because he was about to play for Jamaica. He wasn’t in the mix at this point, so he’s not in the minds of our team.<\/p>\n

It represents a unique deadlock as Greenwood’s Jamaican rejection irritated the clearly annoyed McClallen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

McClaren revealed:<\/p>\n

“That’s a bit disappointing. Maybe he has to be more patient. We’ll keep following him because we know from his conversation with Mason that he loves Jamaica.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe wants to focus on club football and at this point he won’t commit to international teams, he’s spending his time on that.<\/p>\n

“He’s a huge asset and he came here and enjoyed playing football, which is a disappointment for everyone.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
