Brighton, UK (AP) — Rodri claims that a return to fitness will not automatically turn Manchester City into an old force.<\/p>\n

“I’m not Messi.” Ballon d’Or winner<\/span> He said after City’s first Premier League start in 11 months for the team 2-1 loss in Brighton<\/span> on sunday.<\/p>\n

“I’m coming back, I’m going to win the team, I’m not going to win,” he said. “It’s a group. When I won in the past, I needed all my teammates.<\/p>\n

“It’s true, I have to recover to my best level… Hopefully, after the (international) break, we can come back much better.”<\/p>\n

City opened the Premier League season with a 4-0 victory at Wolverhampton, but some may doubt whether Pep Guardiola’s team has the quality to maintain title bids such as Liverpool and Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Rodri said: “To be honest, I don’t care.<\/p>\n

“People can think of what they want. We focus on us, work as hard as possible and talk at the end of the season.”<\/p>\n
