When he questioned whether he was certain he would remain United&#8217;s manager beyond the upcoming international break. &#8220;I don&#8217;t know what will happen, but that&#8217;s what I think.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But again, I&#8217;m not going to promise you anything about becoming the future. But I&#8217;m the manager of Manchester United and I don&#8217;t think that will change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Following the penalty shootout defeat at Blundell Park, Amorim declared that his players &#8220;were really loud about what they wanted&#8221; through their disastrous displays.<\/p>\n<p>This was widely understood as suggesting that Amorim hinted at performance, and thus his team implied that he had lost confidence in him and his approach.<\/p>\n<p>However, Amorim argued that his comments should not be conveyed and literally interpreted in the heat of the moment, and that he allowed his feelings to overwhelm him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&#8220;Sometimes I hate players, sometimes I love my players, sometimes I want to protect my players,&#8221; Amorim said. &#8220;Sometimes I want to quit. Sometimes I want to be here for 20 years, sometimes I love my players, sometimes I don&#8217;t want to be here with them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is my way of doing things and I&#8217;m going to be like that. I was frustrated and irritated. I know there are a lot of experienced players who say I should be more calm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&#8220;But I was, and at that moment, I was really angry and disappointed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I felt the preseason was really good.
