Arenas and infrastructure<\/span> After massive national construction projects over the past 20 years, it is almost fully prepared, but Italy has not prepared 10 stadiums or has no plans to hold a 24-team 51-game tournament.<\/p>\nThe situation was called “shame” by UEFA President Alexander Ceferin in May, adding that Italy has “much worst infrastructure” of Europe’s largest countries.<\/p>\n
His words sounded the alarm bell, according to Ezio Simonelli, president of the Italian League’s governing body.<\/p>\n
“I’m really worried about Euro 2032,” Simonelli said in an interview with Radio in Italy.<\/p>\n
“Are candidates at risk? I hope that’s just my concern, but when the President of UEFA says our stadium is coma and the Euro is six years away, we risk not making a very good impression on the international level.<\/p>\n
“But it’s a shame that the rest of our stadium is in coma, beyond Udin, Bergamo and Turin. Ceferin is a strong critic of Italian stadiums, and I agree with him.”<\/p>\n
Italy will need to build and renovate the aging inventory of the stadium, but domestic construction projects could be bureaucratic and slower, such as replacing Milan’s iconic San Siro and Rome’s Studio Olimpico.<\/p>\n
“We’re behind every other country,” Simonelli said. \u201cWe have only launched six stadiums in the last 18 years, only three of which are in Serie A.<\/p>\n
“I’m very concerned. We are pushing the government to streamline the procedures and silence the famous ‘committee’ and authorities that are supposed to protect the cultural heritage and the famous ‘committee’ that nothing can be achieved in Italy. \u201d<\/p>\n
Udinese, Juventus and Atalanta are the only Serie A clubs with new or recently renovated stadiums. They hold their basis decisively, but many arenas in Italy are owned by councils.<\/p>\n
The San Siro issue highlights the problems facing the club. Inter Milan and AC Milan revealed their plans Building a new stadium<\/span> On the 2019 site, the delay and red tape looked for both clubs, searched for land and found it Building a new home venue<\/span> In the city.<\/p>\nHowever, in another complete turnaround, the club is eventually set up to buy San Siro and land from the Milan City Council. “I don’t know what kind of protection a stadium is like San Siro,” Simonelli said. \u201cThere is debate whether it was 100 years old and rebuilt in 1955 and launched before or after November. These are ridiculous.<\/p>\n
“It’s a stadium that no longer works to play football or welcome people with dignity. You just need to go to the bathrooms in Sansilo to make this happen. You need to rebuild the new stadium, stop it completely and put an end to all these pointless diabetes.”<\/p>\n
