Lisandro Martinez and Nucea Mazraui both faced Arsenal for Manchester United’s Premier League opener, with Reuben Amorim confirming. The Red Devils welcome gunners to Old Trafford on Sunday to launch their 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n
Amorim is eager to start with a positive start considering United’s disastrous season last time. But his side must take on the man of Mikel Arteta without two important advocates.<\/p>\n
Martinez misses the game while continuing to recover from long-term knee problems, but Mazrawi is on the sidelines with hamstring tension. However, Amorim has confirmed that both Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee are potentially capable of playing, but Benjamin Sesko is on his debut.<\/p>\n
At a pre-match press conference, Amorim said: “No, Richa (Lisandro Martinez) and Mazrawi are out. They can’t play this game. Josh (Zirkzee) and Andre (Onana) are recovering.<\/p>\n
At Sesco he added: \u201cSesco is ready to play from a physical perspective\u2026 he is ready to be a big component of our league, and he is really smart, every detail he asks, and he is always thinking.<\/p>\n
Other than these four, United have clean health securities. Amorim United faces a tough start to their campaign with clashes with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea coming through October. Asked about the targets of future campaigns, Amorim said, “It’s hard to know.<\/p>\n

“We can’t change everything in four weeks, but we’re better. We’re training harder and ready to deal with the demands of the game. I’m really confident. That’s obvious. Step by step, we’ll become a better team.”<\/p>\n
“I want to go back to Europe,” Amorim added. “We have to be realistic with the fans. We have more teams that take longer than us, so we have to fight a lot. We have to focus on each game. We want to win Arsenal.”<\/p>\n
Amorim also claims that he has learned many lessons from the club’s agony over the past year, and that he is better equipped to face adversity at Old Trafford. He said: “I learned a lot last season. I don’t have to focus on the future.<\/p>\n

“That doesn’t matter, I don’t care. I need to live every day. Everything that’s noise for our team is out of the picture, so I prepare my team against Arsenal.”<\/p>\n
Following the clash with Arsenal, United will face a trip to Fulham next weekend before facing Grimsbytown in the second round of the Carabao Cup, following a draw on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n
