Wayne Rooney lay down on Alexander Isaac and questioned whether he was the “something of player” Liverpool hoped for in their dressing room after his recent actions. Isaac refused to play at Newcastle to force a move to Liverpool.<\/p>\n
The Swedish striker will not compete in the Newcastle preseason tour and is training on his own after Magpie refused an opening bid from Liverpool earlier this month. After missing a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday, Newcastle fans targeted Isaac with a chant “There’s only one greedy b******.”<\/p>\n
And Rooney believes Isaac’s attempt to force Newcastle to make sales backfires on him. “The Jordies are a passionate fanbase and it’s going to be difficult for him to come back,” Rooney said in a BBC match that day.<\/p>\n
“But I think his teammates are also hoping that as a teammate, you’ll be training every day to give everything to the training pitch and every day as you pull your shirts.<\/p>\n
“The fact that he refuses to come in and train is very difficult for him to come back. He just did it the wrong way. Maybe he’s been misadvised.<\/p>\n

“People who are trying to abandon their teammates and leave the giant football club. It’s a good opportunity to go to Liverpool, but they have to do it the right way.”<\/p>\n
But Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has insisted there is still a way to return to Isaac at St. James Park. “Nothing has changed,” Howe told reporters after a draw with Newcastle’s Villa.<\/p>\n
“The door is fine and really open, but he has to decide what he wants to do. We want a solution. Ownership, the players we have, want that clarity. You don’t need to be distracted.<\/p>\n

“I don’t control it. There’s only one person in control of it. Alex is in control of what he’s doing. I don’t control him.<\/p>\n
“We are actively looking for the market. We are working hard to bring players in from hope more than we expected.”<\/p>\n
