Leeds United reportedly agreed to a deal to sign an experienced Premier League striker Marcelo Bielsa and Pep Guardiola have praised in the past<\/h2>\n

Marcelo Bielsa and Pep Guardiola have already expressed their praise for Dominique Calvert Lewin. Leeds United have agreed to a deal with the striker, a free agent, after leaving Everton.<\/p>\n
Daniel Fark had a busy summer transfer window as the Yorkshire side prepares to return to top flights. The club welcomed Lucas Nameka, Sean Longstaff and Anton Stuck to Elland Road.<\/p>\n
However, it seems that the focus is now on securing strikers with proven track record in the Premier League. Reports say Leeds has reached a preliminary agreement to sign free agent Calvert Lewin, who was previously impressed by iconic Leeds boss Bielsa.<\/p>\n

The centre forward has scored 71 Toffee goals over the past nine years, indicating that he could be prolific when he fits perfectly. Manchester United and Newcastle United were both believed to be interested in former England International, but Leeds appears to have overtaken them.<\/p>\n
Calvert Lewin is currently expected to receive medical care at the Thorpe Arch before writing a deal with the newly promoted party. Relaxing the unforgettable spell in Leeds, Bielsa praised Calvert Lewin after the club’s 1-0 win at Everton in November 2020.<\/p>\n
“It’s not easy to neutralize him,” Bealsie said of Calvert Lewin. \u201cThe whole team has put in a lot of defensive effort to stop him, especially our centre-back against him.<\/p>\n
“But he had the opportunity to score and we worked to make the opportunity he was on goal difficult. But even so, he was just as dangerous as usual.”<\/p>\n

Given that Bielsa was the one who brought Rafinha to Leeds in 2020, his judgment on the forward player should not be lightly dismissed. The Brazilian winger has surpassed all expectations since moving to Barcelona three years ago.<\/p>\n
Rafinha has found himself running this summer, or this summer, following a sensational season that saw him score 34 goals and set another 25 in all competitions. His contributions were important last season to round out La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Espana Treble’s La Liga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana Treble.<\/p>\n
Calvert Lewin is not expected to reach near the height of his new club, but Manchester City boss Guardiola previously described Calvert Lewin as “exceptional.” He praised the 28-year-old in 2022.<\/p>\n
“When he’s on top, he’s an exception: a long ball, a second ball in a box,” Guardiola explained. “He’s a dangerous player.”<\/p>\n

Leeds supporters are keen to witness exactly that Calvert Lewin can offer bids to avoid relegation, but the main hurdles the club may encounter keeps his fitness up. The forward was on the sidelines for more than 100 days in Everton’s final campaign due to hamstring and ankle issues. Additionally, hamstring and knee issues during the 2022\/23 campaign have kept him out of action for 223 days.<\/p>\n
Leeds hopes Calver Trewin will be able to return to peak form under Fark this semester, but it remains unclear whether he will be signed and registered in time for his Premier League opener on Monday evening.<\/p>\n
