The Red Devils have already brought in two new players to boost their midfield ranks, which was a top priority for Michael Carrick heading into the summer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Andrei Santos is United&#8217;s first summer signing, having joined from Chelsea earlier this month in a deal worth around \u00a350 million. He was soon joined by Youri Tielemans, who joined the club from Aston Villa in a \u00a335m deal. Despite these signings, United are still thought to be looking for a new midfielder to replace Casemiro when his contract expires.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Cone could fit into that mold, given his use as a box-to-box midfielder and also being comfortable playing in a deeper role.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>He had a fantastic World Cup with France and his achievements have reportedly attracted United&#8217;s interest ahead of the new Premier League season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Although personal terms have already been agreed, a transfer fee has not yet been set and it is claimed it could be just a matter of days before Roma are no longer open to negotiations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>According to Corriere dello Sport, this is because they hope to conclude the contract by August, according to the terms of the financial settlement agreement with UEFA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Roma have given United a six-day deadline to &#8220;meet the terms of the settlement&#8221;, which expires at the end of this month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Under the terms of the settlement, the Italian giants will reportedly have to sell one of their star players to comply with financial regulations and avoid a hefty fine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Miles Svilar and Evan Ndicka have been mentioned as possible departures, but it appears Roma are willing to let Kone leave.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>However, it remains to be seen whether United will be able to successfully negotiate a transfer fee before the deadline expires.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The report claims Roma value the midfielder at around \u00a351m, but adds that the Red Devils are hoping to sign him for around \u00a343m.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Roma is said to be frustrated behind the scenes as the sale of connections will bring in much-needed funds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>United have also been linked with a possible move for Real Madrid midfielder Aur\u00e9lien Choameny, who played alongside Kone at the World Cup.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/sport\/football\/2232894\/Man-Utd-transfer-Manu-Kone\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester United have just six days to complete the deal for Roma midfielder Manu Kone, according to reports.
