Arsenal have been heavily linked with signing Newcastle United star Bruno Guimar\u00e3es for much of the summer transfer window.<\/h2>\n

Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Newcastle United star Bruno Guimar\u00e3es, but it appears they have changed their previous transfer plans.<\/p>\n
Guimar\u00e3es has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners all summer and reportedly expressed his desire to leave Newcastle early on.<\/p>\n
The 28-year-old has a contract at St James’ Park until 2028 and The Times reports that Arsenal have opened talks with Newcastle over the midfielder.<\/p>\n
The newspaper said Arsenal had previously revealed they were willing to pay up to \u00a360 million for Guimar\u00e3es this summer.<\/p>\n
However, Newcastle appear determined to maintain their \u00a375m valuation, meaning Arsenal will have to change their plans to meet the Magpies’ valuation.<\/p>\n
Separate reports from the Telegraph say Newcastle are “perplexed” by reports that they have opened talks with Arsenal to sign Guimar\u00e3es.<\/p>\n
It remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached between Arsenal and Newcastle regarding Guimar\u00e3es, who was included in Brazil’s squad for this summer’s World Cup.<\/p>\n
Guimar\u00e3es was part of the Brazilian team that reached the last 16 in North America, but the Selecao lost to Norway and missed out on advancing to the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n
The Newcastle star is currently on summer break and will return to pre-season duty in the coming weeks, but it remains to be seen whether it will be with Arsenal or Newcastle.<\/p>\n
However, the report suggests that if Arsenal were to make an offer of around \u00a375m, it would give the Magpies something to think about.<\/p>\n

The update comes following reports that Arsenal have agreed an improved sponsorship deal with Emirates Airlines, thought to be worth around \u00a370 million.<\/p>\n
Arsenal are heavily linked with signing a new midfielder this summer as they look to defend their Premier League title again next month.<\/p>\n
The Gunners are also planning to strengthen their forward options, recently agreeing a deal to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas for around \u00a317m.<\/p>\n
Morgan Rodgers was a target for Arsenal this summer but is expected to move to Chelsea for \u00a3117m instead.<\/p>\n
Newcastle will be determined to keep Guimar\u00e3es at the club, especially since they have already been approved for two big sales early in the season.<\/p>\n
Tottenham Hotspur signed Sandro Tonali in a deal worth \u00a3100m earlier this summer, while Anthony Gordon moved to Barcelona in a \u00a369m move before the start of the World Cup.<\/p>\n
