His contract with Lille expired during the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Sunderland manager said Meunier, who previously played for Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, had signed a two-year contract.<\/p>\n<p>Newly promoted Sunderland were expected to be relegated last season, but qualified for the Europa League in seventh place.
