MILAN (AP) \u2014 New AC Milan Coach Ruben Amorim<\/span> He said he had made mistakes during his tenure at Manchester United, but that they would make him better at his job.<\/p>\n

Amorim took over as United manager in November 2024 following the sacking of Erik ten Hag, but struggled to turn their fortunes around, finishing 15th in the Premier League table and losing to Tottenham in the 2025 Europa League final.<\/p>\n

At the time of Amorim’s dismissal, they were in sixth place, but Amorim continued to be criticized for his 3-4-3 tactical model and limited use of academy players.<\/p>\n

“Everyone learns from their experiences,” said the 41-year-old Portuguese coach.<\/p>\n

“I’ve learned a lot. I’ve made mistakes. There are things I’ll change and things I’ll never change. But I think I can be a better (coach).”<\/p>\n

Amorim oversaw undesirable club records at United, including most losses and lowest points total in a Premier League season.<\/p>\n
