England trained for the first time after their dramatic win over Mexico at the Azteca, but Reece James, Declan Rice and Mark Guehi were all absent.<\/h2>\n

England duo Declan Rice and Mark Guehi missed training ahead of their World Cup quarter-final against Norway.<\/p>\n
Rice has been suffering from back problems and Guehi is believed to be recovering from muscle fatigue after his heroic victory in Mexico.<\/p>\n
Both men are working on their own fitness programs and are expected to be fit for the big matchup in Miami. England national team manager Thomas Tuchel’s team participated in a public training session in front of television cameras at their home base in Kansas City.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, right-back Reece James remains on the injured list after not training again and is struggling to feature despite potentially recovering in time.<\/p>\n
The FA has not yet decided whether to proceed with a review of whether to make a statement regarding Jarel Quansah’s red card, which will rule him out of the game against Norway.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Anthony Gordon says the current England squad is the best team he has ever been a part of “by country”.<\/p>\n
Barcelona winger Gordon was one of the heroes of England’s victory in Mexico, showing incredible mental strength in what was the biggest win ever on foreign soil.<\/p>\n
Gordon said it was because of Thomas Tuchel’s “brotherhood” in the team that the atmosphere in the camp had never been better.<\/p>\n
England star Gordon said on the latest episode of Extra Time: “Camp life is great. I really like it. Camp life is really great.”<\/p>\n
“We’ve got an incredible group, the best England group I’ve ever been a part of in terms of chemistry and bonding, both on and off the pitch.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hold each other accountable in terms of standards off the pitch, which is very important for a team that wants to be successful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gordon enjoyed a stop-start tournament, but he has played a big role in the past two games and appears to be in better form this World Cup.<\/p>\n
He was outstanding, providing two assists for Harry Kane against the Democratic Republic of Congo and winning a penalty against Mexico, while the England captain also converted from the spot.<\/p>\n
However, Gordon also says he wants to add more goals to his game ahead of next season’s club season in Spain.<\/p>\n
Gordon further added, “I love to finish and it’s a big part of my game and I want to be a goalscorer. The only way to get to where I really want to be is to practice every day. The more I practice, the more free I can be mentally on game day.”<\/p>\n
“I’ve been talking to H (Kane) and trying to get as much knowledge as possible because he can do it with both feet, he has no problems with angles, he has no problems with non-touch and the ball goes into the net. I’ve been trying to pick up bits and pieces from him.”<\/p>\n
