Mason Greenwood is expected to leave Marseille this summer after two years in France, with an offer set to be submitted potentially determining his next club.<\/h2>\n

Italian giants Roma are set to make an initial bid for former Manchester United player Mason Greenwood after agreeing personal terms. The striker was expected to leave Marseille this summer after spending two years in France.<\/p>\n
He scored 48 goals in 81 Ligue 1 appearances after joining from United for \u00a326.7m. Greenwood was then charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive conduct, and those charges were later dropped.<\/p>\n
However, it seems that the exit is now in sight. According to Sky Italia, Roma are preparing to make an initial bid for Greenwood, and are planning to offer around 45 million euros (approximately 3.85 billion yen), including bonuses and a sell clause.<\/p>\n
It has been suggested that personal terms have already been agreed with Greenwood’s camp. If a transfer fee is agreed, he will sign a five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico.<\/p>\n
Despite this, no agreement has yet been reached between Roma and Marseille, with the French side seeking further agreement. It is thought that they would like to secure around 55 million euros, but that amount is likely to be negotiable.<\/p>\n
Greenwood, 24, appeared to suggest he was happy to remain at Marseille when he spoke in May. Speaking at the Ligue 1 awards ceremony, he said: “Although we as a team have had some difficult times this season, especially in the last few months, I think we’ve had a good season individually.”<\/p>\n
“I’m happy to win this award because there are some great players in this Team of the Year. Ligue 1 is a great league. We play great games, but in my opinion Ligue 1 is one of the best leagues I’ve ever played in. I hope I stay here.”<\/p>\n
Greenwood will now need to focus on his international loyalties, as the club’s future appears to be close to being settled. England manager Thomas Tuchel admitted earlier this year that he was no longer being considered.<\/p>\n

“I haven’t spoken to him until now,” Tuchel said. “I haven’t talked to him or his camp.<\/p>\n
“My understanding was that he was trying to play for Jamaica, so we didn’t think about it. He’s not in the squad at the moment and he’s not thinking about our team.”<\/p>\n
However, former Jamaica national team manager Steve McLaren later confirmed that Greenwood had not officially declared for Jamaica. He said: \u201cWe had gotten the passports and we were expecting him to come to this camp.<\/p>\n
“But in conversations with his family (we) found out that he’s not going to commit to anyone at this point. It’s a little disappointing because he’s taking his time. We’ll probably have to be more patient, but we’ll keep in touch and we’ll continue to pursue him because I know from my conversations with Mason and his family that he loves Jamaica and respects Jamaica.”<\/p>\n
“He wants to concentrate on club football and not be part of the national team at the moment. We have to respect whatever efforts we have made to bring him to camp. So the future is anyone’s guess.”<\/p>\n
