Manchester United are bolstering their bids to sign strikers before the start of the new season. Ollie Watkins is now their first choice target.<\/p>\n
United boss Ruben Amorim is hoping that a proven scorer will lead his team’s offense as he is seen as the ideal choice for Aston Villa and England striker Watkins to play the role. This summer, United adopted a policy of signing players with Premier League experience, as evidenced by the recruitment of Mateus Cu\u00f1a and Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo from the wolves.<\/p>\n
United continues its strategy with Watkins’ move, but is understood to not want to accommodate the 29-year-old Villa’s \u00a360m valuation.<\/p>\n
Among the United tiers, there is hope that they can reach a compromise of \u00a340-\u00a345m for Watkins and trade between the two clubs.<\/p>\n
Watkins scored 17 goals last season and 16 in the Premier League, with Amorim hoping for a striker who could go straight to United’s team and start scoring regularly without the need for adaptive.<\/p>\n

Like Watkins, United are keeping an eye on RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesco, but the Bundesliga club is hoping for around \u00a370 million from him and Newcastle and will be in pole position to sign the 22-year-old Slovenian.<\/p>\n
United are investigating the potential deal between Watkins and Sesco, but Nicholas Jackson’s move has been ruled out due to Chelsea’s \u00a380 million asking price.<\/p>\n
Amorim wants to sign a new striker as soon as possible, to give his new teammates time to settle and understand, but accepts that negotiations could be dragged.<\/p>\n

To fund striker moves, United must make money from selling players. Alejandro Garnacho and Antony’s double sale (both removed from the US Tour team) is enough to cover the costs of the new frontman.<\/p>\n
United are also trying to offload Jadon Sancho and Tyrrell Malacia, who were left behind by Amorim and joined Ghanacho and Antony, but Marcus Rashford’s loan move to Barcelona has saved about \u00a312 million, with the Spanish giants covering wages for the entire season.<\/p>\n

United’s determination to sign a new striker cast doubt on the future of Rasmus Hojlund, who struggled last season, scoring just 10 goals from 52 appearances in all competitions.<\/p>\n
Villa sources claim Watkins is not on sale, but they wanted \u00a360 million from Arsenal in January. He then changed his attitude when John Duran left to join Saudi Arabia’s Professional League Club Al Nasr.<\/p>\n
