MILAN (AP) – Inter Milan’s Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni is being investigated on suspicion of child prostitution.<\/p>\n

This is part of a large-scale investigation by the Milan public prosecutor’s office into the alleged escort ring.<\/p>\n

Bastoni was subpoenaed to appear before prosecutors on Friday. He is accused of paying for sex with one of the girls, who was 17 at the time, in June 2020.<\/p>\n

Because she was a minor at the time, the paid sex constituted child prostitution.<\/p>\n

“My client is very upset,” said Bastoni’s lawyer, Salvatore Scootto. “We can also rule out the possibility that he engaged in paid sexual relations, let alone with minors.”<\/p>\n

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the girl has already been questioned and has admitted staying at Bastoni’s house, but denies having sex with the footballer.<\/p>\n
