WHIPANNEE, N.J. (AP) – Panamanian striker Cecilio Waterman and midfielder Jose Luis Rodriguez had a brief collision during training Friday.<\/p>\n

During training for Saturday’s World Cup Group L match against England, Waterman pushed Rodriguez in the chest and the two were separated by team-mates.<\/p>\n

“This is a normal situation,” Panama coach Thomas Christiansen said afterward at MetLife Stadium through an interpreter.<\/p>\n

“I would have liked to have seen these situations more often during training,” he added. “It means the team is alive. We will give a good effort to be in the first eleven for tomorrow’s game. So if it happens again, it is a good sign that they are alive.”<\/p>\n

In the second World Cup, Panama lost and was eliminated. ghana<\/span> and Croatia<\/span>. Los Canaleros have not made it past the first round in either of their World Cup appearances.<\/p>\n
