NYON, Switzerland (AP) \u2014 First woman to referee a men’s world cup match<\/span>St\u00e9phanie Frappard has joined the UEFA staff. <\/p>\n

Frappert has taken up a full-time job as a UEFA referee, training match referees and assisting with their appointment to matches in European competitions. UEFA announced on Thursday that she will replace former Czech referee Dagmar Damcova.<\/p>\n

The 42-year-old French referee is a pioneer of female match officials in men’s football.<\/p>\n

At the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Germany defeated Costa Rica 4-2 in the group stage.<\/p>\n

Later on Thursday, Tori Penso of the United States will officiate his second game of the Men’s World Cup, when Germany takes on Ecuador. she was also working South Africa 1-1 draw<\/span> We played against the Czech Republic last week.<\/p>\n

Frappart is also the first woman to referee a match between France’s Ligue 1 and UEFA’s Men’s Champions League.<\/p>\n

In women’s soccer, she refereed the 2019 World Cup and 2025 European Championship finals.<\/p>\n
