PARIS (AP) – French sports media giant L’Equipe has denied comments made by a female host who criticized it. “There are hundreds of soccer players who would kill someone to take your place,” she said on the show in response to Doc’s comments in the US.<\/p>\n
Doc’s wife Shireen is due to give birth to their son in early July, when Belgium hopes to qualify for the World Cup finals.<\/p>\n
“Nobody wants to miss out on giving birth,” said the 24-year-old Belgian star. Play for Manchester City.<\/span><\/p>\nPierron questions Doc’s priorities, saying Doc is “living a childhood dream, which may never happen again in your life.”<\/p>\n
It is unclear whether Mr. Pierron will appear on a talk show scheduled to air Monday on a cable channel run by the famous Nikkan Sports Newspaper. <\/p>\n
Doc was supported by England forward Ollie Watkins, who was asked about the family choices players face.<\/p>\n
“He said you only get your first child once. It’s a blessing to welcome them into the world,” Watkins said at a press conference at the England training camp.<\/p>\n
“Someone labeled it unpleasant. And first of all, I don’t think that’s the way to label childbirth. I don’t think it’s anyone else’s business what he does after training,” Watkins said.<\/p>\n
