England full-back Tino Libramento has been left out of the squad. world cup<\/span> A calf injury on Tuesday forced manager Thomas Tuchel to make second-half changes to his squad for the opening game against Croatia.<\/p>\n

Chelsea defender Trevor Chalobah was called up as a substitute and was due to travel to England’s training camp in Kansas City.<\/p>\n

The English Football Association announced that Newcastle defender Libramento suffered the injury during training on Sunday.<\/p>\n

“Following tests and a medical assessment on Monday, it has been regrettably confirmed that he will be unable to play any further in England,” the newspaper said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Libramento is comfortable playing at either right-back or left-back and was chosen primarily for his versatility. He was primarily seen as a backup to injury-prone right-back Reece James.<\/p>\n

Chalova has primarily played as a centre-back for Chelsea in recent seasons, but he also has experience at right-back. <\/p>\n

England travel to Dallas for their first group game against Croatia on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Teams may call up injured substitutes up to 24 hours before kick-off of the first match.<\/p>\n
