Items including Harry Kane’s boots are said to have been stolen, while several items from the England team’s training kit have reportedly been recovered.<\/p>\n
US police were today searching for Harry Kane’s boots after his England shirt went missing on the way to the US World Cup training headquarters. The incident cost our talismanic captain his shooting boots and manager Thomas Tuchel his tactical smart board.<\/p>\n
Police said two suspects were taken into custody as the FA were forced to look for new uniforms ahead of their first training session at the Swope Soccer Village headquarters in Missouri. Hotshots Harry’s boots, Jude Bellingham’s boots, a ball and important training kit are believed to have been stolen, but sources have told The Athletic that the missing items have now been recovered.<\/p>\n
Just four days ago, Kane was seen pointing at the pitch while wearing red, white and blue Nike boots during England’s training session in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He wore the same shoes in Wednesday’s 3-0 win against Costa Rica.<\/p>\n

Only one ball remained after the incident, which occurred sometime during the 1,238-mile, 20-hour road trip from England’s pre-tournament base camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, to Kansas. Kansas City police have arrested two suspects. “We are investigating the possible loss of equipment from a team vehicle arriving in Kansas City,” a military spokesperson said. “The two individuals involved have been detained pending further investigation. The investigation is ongoing.” The FA was liaising with police to assist with the investigation.<\/p>\n

Kane has been in excellent form this season, scoring 61 goals in 51 games for Bayern Munich and eight goals in eight appearances for England, taking his total to 69 in all competitions. He played 146 games for the German club and scored an incredible 143 goals. The stolen ball was the official World Cup tournament edition. England staff were packing up the team’s training equipment after warming up for the tournament in Florida, which included friendly wins against New Zealand, Costa Rica and local team Miami United. It included analytical equipment, Tuchel’s whiteboard and a massage table. The robbery was a huge blow to the Three Lions’ tournament preparations. England headed to their World Cup home base today as preparations for the tournament began in earnest.<\/p>\n
An employee at the Slope Sports Complex said they had been working for “many months” to prepare the pitch, but staff had been asked to leave to make way for the England team.<\/p>\n
“The pitch was prepared even before we knew England were coming,” he told the Mirror. \u201cThey worked for three months to get the surface right.<\/p>\n
“We all had to leave here to make way for you.” Security had been in place for several days before the team arrived, and people were asked not to approach the Mirror and take photos on the grounds.<\/p>\n

England’s 26 players and backroom staff boarded a private jet in Orlando, Florida, and were scheduled to arrive at Kansas City’s Wheeler Field Airport around 1pm local time, or 7pm UK time. They enjoyed a night out with their wives, girlfriends and family last night. Kane, Jordan Pickford, John Stones and Elliott Anderson all played golf with Brooks Koepka during the break. Mr. Cain is believed to have orchestrated the round. Coach Tuchel described his transfer to World Cup headquarters as “entering a tunnel” amid “heightening tensions”. As young midfielder Morgan Rogers says, “It’s showtime.” Rodgers and his close friend and teammate Jude Bellingham spoke of team spirit and camaraderie as the Three Lions end a 60-year blemish with their second World Cup trophy.<\/p>\n

Tuchel emphasized that his ambition was to add a second star to England’s shirt when he took over. His young team was expected to receive a warm welcome in Kansas, where expatriates and Americans were ready to welcome them. Aston Villa star Morgan, 23, described his move to Kansas City as a “mental change” after two friendlies. Hundreds of residents near the England team’s hotel, the Inn at Meadowbrook, welcomed the team with Union flags. Judy and Elvin Knight, who lived in a fine mansion right next door to the hotel, were flying Union flags. They are rooting for both England and Scotland in the tournament<\/p>\n
Proud mother-of-two and grandmother Judy wore an England shirt given to her on Mother’s Day. But she told the Mirror: “We wanted a shirt that welcomed England, so a local designer made one for us. 242 shirts were sold and hundreds of people carried the English flag. But we’re also going to support Scotland. Our daughter is married to a Scotsman, so we’ll be supporting them too.” He added: “We’re really excited for the UK to be here. It’s great that of all the places they could have chosen in the US they chose to come here. They’ll have a really warm welcome.” Scotland’s first World Cup final in almost 30 years will be played in the early hours of Sunday morning. The game against Haiti will kick off in Boston at 2am UK time. That means it will probably be close to 4am by the time the millions of fans back home know whether Scotland have secured victory. Pubs, clubs and fan zones are given special licenses to open and serve alcohol at night. Ahead of the match, a number of prominent Scotland fans gathered at Scotland House in Boston, including Martin Compston, Gerard Butler and Claire Grogan. Grogan, a pop star and actor, said he was “very excited” before the game. \u201cOnce they get serious, I don\u2019t think they can stop it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
