Wolves made the shock announcement of sacking Rob Edwards on Thursday, just days after confirming defender Kieran Trippier’s arrival at Molineux.<\/h2>\n

Kieran Trippier could end his contract with Wolves days after signing for the club following the bizarre decision to sack Rob Edwards, it has been claimed.<\/p>\n
Wolves, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, confirmed on Thursday that Edwards would leave the club. The timing of the call-up has puzzled fans, as the 43-year-old plays a key role in the squad’s reinforcements, including the signing of Trippier, who was made available to Bosman this summer after his contract with Newcastle expired.<\/p>\n
However, according to the Times, the deal could now be in jeopardy, with Trippier claiming he is furious at the decision to remove Edwards and is currently “exploring his legal position.”<\/p>\n
The defender’s contract doesn’t actually take effect until July 1, so he could effectively be out of the deal.<\/p>\n

It has also been suggested that the former Newcastle player did not find out about Edwards’ departure through the club’s official channels, but may have learned of it through other means. Trippier had previously highlighted Edwards’ role in his decision to move to Molineux.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had a lot of conversations with the manager, and the first thing that struck me was how passionate he was about taking the club forward to get us out of the Championship next season.The manager has an instant feel for things and I immediately felt a fit with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
“I get to be close to the kids and that’s the most important thing for me, but I’ve played here many times for three different clubs so I know how the fans feel. I’ve heard it’s a great environment for the players, so the decision was easy.”<\/p>\n
“I’ve been in this position many times in my career where I like the challenge. I did that when I signed for Newcastle and I’m doing that now at Wolves. My aim is to help the players on and off the pitch and aim for success next season.”<\/p>\n

Wolves executive chairman Nathan See explained the decision to fire Edwards. He said: “This was an extremely difficult decision. At the end of the season, we embarked on a thorough review of all aspects of our football operations. This process involved careful consideration of a number of factors and extensive reflection on what we believe the club needs to progress over the next few years.”<\/p>\n
“Our decision wasn’t one of character, professionalism or dedication. It was about deciding what we believe gives Wolves the strongest opportunity to move forward from a sporting perspective.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile there were positive signs and areas of progress, ultimately we came to the conclusion that a different direction of football was better suited to the style, identity and level of competitiveness we wanted to establish at the club.<\/p>\n
“It would have been easier to continue with what was familiar, but leadership is not about taking the easiest path, but about making the difficult decisions you believe are right for the future of the football club, moving Wolves forward on the strongest foundations.”<\/p>\n
