Barbra Banda scored two goals and added one assist in the Orlando Pride’s 3-1 home win over Bay FC on Friday night. <\/p>\n
In the National Women’s Soccer League’s only other game of the night, Denver Summit defeated Racing Louisville 1-0.<\/p>\n
Banda led the league with nine goals for the Pride (5-5-2), but was injured while chasing the ball late in the game. The nature of the injury was not clear. <\/p>\n
After a lightning-fast one-hour delay, Banda scored Orlando’s fastest goal of the season just three minutes into the game.<\/p>\n
About three minutes later, Caroline Conti scored Bay’s goal with a low shot into the far corner. It was her first game of the season. <\/p>\n
Banda put Orlando ahead with his second goal in the 50th minute, then fed Cori Dike into the goal from the top of the box four minutes later. <\/p>\n
Bay (3-6-2) has lost its third straight game. Goaltender Jordan Silkowitz and defender Aldana Cometti received red cards in Sunday’s game and received one-game suspensions. 1-0<\/span> They lost to the Chicago Stars.<\/p>\nColorado native Brazier scores first goal at Denver.<\/h2>\n
Expansion Summit’s first signee, Allie Brazier, scored her first goal of the season in the 64th minute to break the road stalemate with Racing. <\/p>\n
Brazier, a Colorado native, scored a sliding goal off an assist from Yuzuki Yamamoto. Denver (4-4-3) has won three of its last four games. <\/p>\n
Last place Racing’s eight losses were all by one point.<\/p>\n
Goalie Madi Prohaska made her first start for Louisville (2-8-1). She made her NWSL debut last week against North Carolina Courage when she was assigned to replace injured starter Jordyn Bloomer in the first half. <\/p>\n
