LEIPZIG, Germany (AP) \u2014 After Crystal Palace’s win Europe’s first trophy<\/span> In his final game as coach, Oliver Glassner will have to address an issue he’s been avoiding.<\/p>\n

“In football, everything I say today will be wrong tomorrow. So all I know for sure is that I’m going to celebrate with the players, have a couple of beers and go back to London tomorrow.”<\/p>\n

Glassner’s options appear to have narrowed since he announced his retirement plans in January. At the time, he was linked with Manchester United, who had just appointed Michael Carrick as interim manager after the sacking of Ruben Amorim. But now Carrick United’s permanent coach<\/span> With a 2 year contract.<\/p>\n

According to reports in the German media, the 51-year-old Austrian could be an option for Bayer Leverkusen if the German team chooses to leave coach Kasper Hulmand, who finished sixth in the Bundesliga and missed out on Champions League qualification. That could potentially mean a return to Palace at some point, as both teams are in next season’s Europa League.<\/p>\n
