North Korea’s Naegohyang FC defeated Tokyo Verdy Beleza 1-0. soccer<\/span> The Asian Women’s Champions League will be held in Suwon, South Korea on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Kim Kyung-young scored the only goal of the game and his fourth goal of the tournament just before halftime.<\/p>\n

North Korea national team forward who scored the winning goal Semi-final victory<\/span> On Wednesday, in a match against South Korea’s Suwon FC, he received the ball from Kim Jeong, who had broken through the Japanese defense, and fired a shot from inside the box.<\/p>\n

In a closely fought match watched by a sparse crowd at the Suwon Sports Complex just south of Seoul, Pyongyang’s team had better chances than Tokyo and deserved their second victory in the 12-team continental tournament, following their victory over Wuhan a year ago.<\/p>\n

With this victory, North Korea achieved unprecedented success in women’s soccer. In 2024, the national team won both the U-20 World Cup and the U-17 World Cup, and in 2025 they successfully defended the U-17 World Cup.<\/p>\n

At the continental level, North Korea won the 2024 Women’s Asian Cup and the 2024 and 2026 U-17 tournaments.<\/p>\n

“We don’t have enough time to explain the evolution of the national soccer program,” Naegohyang head coach Li Yuil said before the final.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a professional player development system. Our players are well trained from a young age and contribute to good performances in AFC and FIFA competitions as they grow older.\u201d<\/p>\n
