Casemiro had an emotional farewell to Old Trafford last weekend, but it has now been confirmed that he will not feature in Manchester United’s final game of the season against Brighton.<\/h2>\n

Casemiro’s Manchester United career has already come to an end after Michael Carrick confirmed he would not be included in the squad for Sunday’s game against Brighton and has already left the club.<\/p>\n
Casemiro, 34, had an emotional farewell on Sunday in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. He received a standing ovation when he was substituted, and gave a heartfelt speech on the pitch after the match.<\/p>\n
Current caretaker manager Carrick revealed last week that the final game of the season at Old Trafford would be the Brazil international’s farewell, with Casemiro having already left to take a break before this summer’s World Cup.<\/p>\n
“I thought it was the right time for Kathy and I made the decision and he’s part of it, so it was the right time,” he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always decided last week was going to be his last game so I think it worked out and to be honest it was exactly what everyone hoped for and he was great.<\/p>\n
“I’ve said a lot about Cassie and how good he’s been for me since I’ve been here and for the club as a whole, but yeah, I’ve decided it’s a good time for him to end, really.”<\/p>\n
Carrick is hoping to finish the season on a high and will use the Amex fixture to give some of United’s young stars a chance.<\/p>\n

And while United will finish third no matter what happens on Sunday, he knows Europe-chasing Brighton could well ride this fixture.<\/p>\n
“We’re certainly aware of the situation of the game and what’s at stake, and I think we certainly have a responsibility to that,” Carrick said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have managed to put ourselves in almost the same position as in the league and we said above all that we want to finish with a good result for ourselves, so we are approaching the game like any other game.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a lot to play for for Brighton, Bournemouth and the other clubs around them so we are very aware of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
