Manchester City star Rodri has insisted he is not thinking about his future, despite having just one year left on his contract. Rodri, 29, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, with City manager Josep Guardiola recently saying he would not interfere with the midfielder.<\/p>\n
City are keen to keep hold of Rodri, who recently returned after a month out. The Spaniard played for an hour as City beat Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup final on Saturday, winning his 14th trophy with the club.<\/p>\n
After the match, Rodri said he was relaxed about his future. “I’m calm,” the 29-year-old replied. “As I said earlier, I’m only thinking about my club and finishing the season by winning as many titles as possible.<\/p>\n
“We have a chance to win the Premier League and the World Cup. I’m not thinking too much about my future right now. I have other priorities, to be honest.”<\/p>\n

Rodri made headlines in March when he insisted his previous loyalty to Atletico Madrid would not prevent him from moving to rivals Real. There are many players who have gone down that path (playing for Atl\u00e9tico and Real),\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
“Not right away, but over time. For me, I can’t turn down the best club in the world.”<\/p>\n
Rodri tore his anterior cruciate ligament in September 2024 and was injured for much of last season. He has only appeared in 36 games this season due to repeated setbacks, but he is hopeful that his fitness issues have been overcome.<\/p>\n
“I’m very happy to be back,” added the Spain international. \u201cIt was a bit of a rollercoaster as I didn\u2019t have any major injuries, but I kept working hard and having doubts so choosing the right time to come back wasn\u2019t easy.<\/p>\n

“I was a little skeptical before the game started today, but it ended very well and the last 65 minutes were very good for my body…[The recent injury]was a small thing, but there’s always the fear that it could be something bigger.”<\/p>\n
“Today I was able to pass the test, so to speak. I felt relatively good. Of course, I’m still missing 20 percent, but that’s a matter of a few weeks.”<\/p>\n
